Arsenal Handed Important Transfer Boost In Quest To Land Danish Defender

Sampdoria are willing to let Joachim Andersen leave the club this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The Danish defender has previously been linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as Manchester United.

There have also been claims that the Gunners have sent scouts to see Andersen, and his teammate Dennis Praet, in action recently as they weigh up a potential bid.

The 22-year-old only broke into the first team at the back end of last season but he has been a regular in Sampdoria’s starting lineup this campaign.

Andersen has made 34 starts in all competitions for the Blucerchiati, helping the Serie A side to ninth in the table with one game remaining.

Arsenal appear to be tracking a fair few centre-backs if reports are to be believed. They have been linked with Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, Saint-Etienne’s William Saliba, Roma’s Kostas Manolas and Espanyol’s Mario Hermoso in recent weeks.
