Arsenal Handed Boost In Pursuit Of PSG Star As Contract Talks Break Down, With Summer Exit Likely

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku has turned down a new contract to stay with the Ligue One club, according to reports in France.

The 21-year-old, who was heavily linked with a loan move to Arsenal in January, is said to be unhappy with the lack of match time he has been afforded by manager Thomas Tuchel this season.

Nkunku has started 16 matches in all competitions, with 26 appearances in total. He has been named in the starting eleven in seven of the last nine league matches, but it appears he is seeking a key role.

With the midfielder’s contract expiring in 2020, PSG may be forced to sell this summer, handing Arsenal a huge boost in their pursuit of the player.

Nkunku came through the academy at the French side before making his debut in a Champions League group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk in December 2015.

Since then, he has gone on to make 75 appearances for PSG, scoring 11 goals and laying on four assists.
