Arsenal Had Enquiry Turned Down For Brazilian Teenage Sensation

Arsenal tried to lure Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior to the Emirates this summer, according to UOL Esporte. The Brazilian news outlet reports that both the Gunners and Paris Saint-Germain made enquiries for the 19-year-old.

The forward was only signed from Flamengo for €40m last summer but the arrival Eden Hazard means his game time could be limited this season, and it is believed the Arsenal’s new technical director Edu wanted to see if the teenager was available.

Real decided to reject the offer and have told Vinicius that he is in the club’s plans and they will help him continue his development.

The Brazilian scored seven goals and provided 13 assists in 36 appearances last campaign, but most of his starts came in the Spanish Cup.

With Hazard now at the club, and Gareth Bale also having been reintegrated into the first team, Vinicius will have a fight on his hands to become a regular first-team player.
