Arsenal Given Price For Italian Star

Arsenal have been told they will have to fork out a transfer sum in the region of £37.5 million if they stand any chance of signing Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, who has been subject of much praise for his latest performances for the champions, according to talkSPORT.

The Gunners will be looking to add more stability to their midfield in the summer, and they will look around Europe for the best talent available for the same. As for the attacking third, the club have collected a group of talented attackers in Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud who have a healthy competition for the first team spots. However, the midfield area is one that is constantly hindered due to injury prone players. Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain will have to put together a prolonged fitness run to ensure they maintain their place in the team.

Verratti began his career at Pescara as a youth player in the academy, before signing a professional contract in 2008. After four years and 74 appearances for the club, PSG came calling, and the 22-year old decided to move to France. The Italian international recently signed an extension to his previous contract with PSG, and his new contract runs until 2019, making it very expensive for any interested parties to buy the player. Verratti’s knack of getting booked has been subject to criticism by the PSG supporters.
