Arsenal Given Hope In Martinez Chase

Arsenal have been given hope for the next transfer window in the summer as one of their targets Jackson Martinez has refused to rule out a move away from his current club Porto after he has achieved his targets for the season at the Portuguese club, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners have faced a lot of criticism for their inability to get deals over the line in the past few seasons. Despite the high profile signings of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal supporters feel the club is not showing the true potential of its financial resources as much as the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool have been doing. It is very clear that many players from the current squad are prone to injuries which has played a big part in the club’s inability to win the Barclays Premier League for almost a decade. With Manchester United recovering from a slump in form last year, Arsenal will have to take advantage in the summer and strengthen their squad. Manchester City and Chelsea have been heavy spenders and have accumulated enough talent to last them a few more seasons, but Arsenal will have to loosen the purse strings in the summer to put them on par with the league leaders.

Martinez has played 77 league matches for Porto since signing for the club in 2012. The 28-year old has an impressive 60 goals since making his debut but the age old question is…”Can he do the business in the Premier League?”… – that is the €40million question which Arsene gets paid the big bucks to decide – we think he wil get it right – he certainly did with Henry, Adebayor in his early days, RVP and now the stunning Alexis Sanchez. If Wenger signs Jackson Martinez – he will more thank likely deliver for the Gunners!!
