Arsenal Given Big Boost As Club President Confirms Key Summer Target Is “Certain” To Leave

Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe will leave his club Lille this summer, according to the French club’s president.

Gerard Lopez has revealed that a number of players will be leaving the Ligue One outfit at the end of the season, with the Ivorian winger having his pick of teams:

“Four or five players will be leaving this summer. The departure of Nicolas Pepe is certain. He enters a price range that can not be refused anymore. He will have the choice.”

In addition to the Gunners, Manchester United and Liverpool are also reportedly interested, with Bayern Munich also keen to secure the midfielder’s services.

Pepe is said to be valued at around €55m (£47.5m) but that figure is likely to rise if competition hots up for the player.

The 23-year-old has been in red hot form for Lille this season, having scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in just 35 games. He was outstanding in yesterday’s shock 5-1 win against league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Pepe put his side 2-1 up six minutes into the second half as well as creating the fourth and fifth goals for Gabriel Magalhaes and Jose Fonte in the rout.
