Arsenal Get Confidence Boost Ahead Of Decisive Champions League Clash

It was a tough game for Arsenal even though the score does not show it. They struggled during the first half which is worrying ahead of Wednesday’s game against Olympiacos. If Sunderland would have scored before the Gunners, they might have not been able to bounce back. Fortunately, that did not happen and now Wenger’s side is just 2 points away from this season’s Premier League revelation, Leicester.

There were a lot of positive things to stay with after this win though. First there’s Ozil who is looking better with each match. He is finally in the same place he was at Real Madrid when everyone compared him to Zidane. Even though he still has a lot of work to do in order to reach that level, he is on the right path. He is unique, he always has his head up and controls the game beautifully. The German international provided his 12th assist of the season which is twice as much as any of the other 4 players who are 2nd in the Premier League statistics.

One other good things worth mentioning is Ramsey’s return. He played incredibly well ending the match with one goal and one assist. Even though he missed a couple of chances he still stood out and would probably deserve being named man of the match.

Giroud showed once again he is in great form after bouncing back from an own goal that gave Sunderland the equalizer. The Frenchman gave Arsenal the lead with a great header not many would have been able to pull at such a fast pace.

Walcott returned as well but did not have an impact on the game which is worrying. One other thing that might worry fans is the fact that Campbell tends to disappear from the game after a couple of minutes. Watching the game felt like Arsenal were one man short which never happens when Sanchez is on the pitch. Hopefully he will manage to make himself noticed later in the game as well.
