He recently made headlines after receiving a controversial red card during the Gunners’ 1-0 win against Wolves in January 2025, it was later appealed by Arsenal.

Lewis-Skelly made just three appearances for the U19s before getting a chance to play with the U21s side for whom he has made 28 appearances, scoring two goals and four assists.

First professional contract and unusual debut yellow card

In October 2023, Lewis-Skelly signed his first professional contract aged 17, after impressing in the youth teams at the Emirates.

He then had to wait less than a year to make his debut for Arsenal, which came during a 2-2 draw against rivals Manchester City in September 2024 – what a game to make your debut in. However, in the same game, he received a yellow cards whilst still on the bench, making him the first player to ever get booked, before making his professional debut.

The 18-year-old began to feature more and more for the Gunners after defenders Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and William Saliba suffered injuries during late 2024 and early 2025. At the time of writing, Lewis-Skelly has made 17 appearances in total for Arsenal this season.
