FPL: Why THIS Arsenal Star Could Be A Great Addition To Your Fantasy Football Premier League Team

Arsenal have had a decent start to the 2023/24 Premier League season – they have been somewhat underwhelming, but anyone who has invested Gunners players in their FPL team will be relatively happy so far.

However, there is one Arsenal player who people are bafflingly overlooking – Declan Rice. The Gunners paid £105 million in the summer transfer window from West Ham United – but the majority of Fantasy Football Premier League players will not pay £5.4 to put him in their FPL teams.

While Rice may seem like a no-brainer to some, just 5% of FPL players have included him in their respective fantasy football outfits. But why is the England international so overlooked by the masses?

Rice is a defensive midfielder – generally, holding players do not score very highly in FPL. Regardless, not only is Rice cheap, he also makes goal contributions – he netted his first Arsenal goal against Manchester United in their last Premier League outing.

Why would Declan Rice be such a good addition to your FPL team?

As we have mentioned earlier, £5.4 is very cheap for a player of Rice’s calibre – making him a virtually risk-free player to add to your team.

While yes, he does not rack up points on the same level of players such as Bukayo Saka or Martin Odegaard, he scored four goals and racked up two assists last season for West Ham. There is no reason he cannot better – or at least replicate – this tally in the 2023/24 season.

Additionally, he is practically the first name on the Arsenal team sheet at present – therefore, there is virtually no risk as to whether he will start in a game or not. With Rice, you are guaranteed at least two points by fielding him.

Which other Arsenal stars should be in your FPL team?

Of course, Rice isn’t the only player at Arsenal we would recommend adding to your FPL team – we have already mentioned Odegaard and Saka, so let’s look at couple of others.

Eddie Nketiah would have been an excellent addition to your squad at the start of the season. However, with Gabriel Jesus now returning to fitness, it is likely that his game time will diminish somewhat.

Oleksandr Zinchenko would also be a good player to throw in. He is Arsenal’s first choice left-back – he also gets forward very well and is inexpensive at just £4.9.
