Arsenal have been “forced” to “give up” on signing Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan this month after the Spanish club refused to budge on their €30m (£27m) price tag, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website reports that the Gunners have been pursuing the 26-year-old for quite a while but they may now have to wait until the summer to make another attempt to sign him.

It is believed that four Serie A sides: AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli will also be looking to make an offer for Jordan at the end of the season, with it being anticipated that Sevilla will lower their asking price.

The Spaniard signed for the La Liga side in 2019 and he will have two years remaining on his deal in the summer but, if the player opts against signing an extension, his club may look to cash in before his value depreciates over the next twelve months.
