Arsenal have reportedly named their price for 21-year-old striker Folarin Balogun – they will be willing to part ways with the player for a transfer fee of £35 million, according to an article by The Sun.
He wants to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window – several clubs from across Europe are lining up to secure the American’s signature in the summer transfer window. Interest in Balogun ranges from Serie A to Ligue 1 to the Premier League.
Balogun wants to move away from Arsenal on a permanent basis – he reportedly has no interest in going out to another club on loan in the 2023/24 season.
Who is interested in a transfer move for Folarin Balogun?
According to the Daily Mail, several major clubs are interested in a move for the Arsenal academy graduate.
Among the clubs who have been linked with a move for Balogun are Crystal Palace, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Monaco and Marseille – but it is currently unclear which of them are leading the race to bring him on board.
Palace could prove to be an enticing proposition, as this would mean a return to the Premier League – but on the other hand, both AC and Inter Milan will be able to offer him Champions League next season. Additionally, he may also be keen on the idea of joining Monaco or Marseille, given his success in Ligue 1 last season.
Will Arsenal miss Folarin Balogun?
Folarin Balogun is somewhat unfortunate to have not made a greater impact at the Emirates Stadium. Last season, he proved that he can be a natural goalscorer, as he found the back of the net 21 times in 37 games for Will Still’s Reims.
Arsenal currently have two first-team strikers at the club – Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. However, this number will soon increase to three, when the Gunners can complete a deal for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
As such, Arsenal can probably afford to live without the services of Balogun – despite his limitless talents, the Gunners are not short of options in the centre-forward position. As such, a move away for the player may be the best result for all parties.
