Arsenal have identified four potential candidates to replace Unai Emery if the Spaniard is sacked, according to the Mirror. The Gunners have picked up just 11 points from their last nine games, putting the manager under huge pressure.
It has reportedly led the board to sound out possible alternatives with former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, Nice manager Patrick Vieira and Manchester City first-team coach Mikel Arteta all in the frame.
Jose Mourinho is also said to be a name being considered, but he would be a divisive appointment considering his history with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal’s fanbase.
The bookmakers have, though, made the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss favourite to replace Emery, with Betfair pricing him at 5/2 to take over at the Emirates.
Arteta is currently second favourite at 5/1, with Patrick Vieira at 6/1. Allegri’s price is 10/1 with the Italian heavily linked with the vacant managerial job at Bayern Munich following the sacking of Niko Kovac.
