Arsenal plan on signing 16 year old sensation Maxi Romero who is expected to become a true superstar as soon as he makes the step to a big name in European football. According to the Daily Mail, Velez Sarsfield’s youngster is deep into negotiations with Wenger who has made the youngster somewhat of a priority. Seen by most as the player to take over for Messi, Romero looks concentrated and determined to do his job as best as possible in order to get attention of important clubs in Europe. Despite most transfer rumors continue coming from inside the youngster’s club, Arsenal’s interest seems legit. Wenger is well-known for his excellent eye for promising footballers and also for the fact that he gives everyone chances regardless of the age.

Romero’s representative already admitted to have spoken to Wenger who has sat down for negotiations not only once but twice in order to convince Rolando Zarate the 16 year old is worth the effort. Currently the right-back is expensive and could be considered too much for Wenger.

Apparently Romero will not leave anytime soon but will consider a pre-contract which will probably get him to London. It is more than clear that Wenger saw something in the Argentinian who has yet to make an appearance for Velez. As with many such transfers, risks are big. It is hard to tell if the 16 year old will be able to handle the Premier League.
