Arsenal Finish Strong After Worrying First Half

Arsenal started off slow against Watford who had a few good chances to score. Walcott was the first to try and score but got denied by Gomes. Sanchez also tried a long distance shot but failed to find the back of the net. Things got strange after that as Watford started dominating. Arsenal’s defense looked a bit disoriented and Cech almost missed a ball just outside the box, mistake that could have cost the Gunners the entire game.

The first 45 minutes ended in a draw which was fair considering the way Watford played. The second half was a totally different story as the Arsenal’s game started looking a lot more efficient. Sanchez looked restless and pushed through until the 80th minute when he was replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Chilean opened the score after a great sequence of passes between Cazorla and Ozil. The German provided the assist for the second goal as well which came from Giroud who just replaced Walcott 4 minutes earlier. Ramsey was the last to score after a lucky shot that got deflected into the net.

A few things need to be mentioned after this game. The first would be that Sanchez is without a doubt the best transfer Wenger has made in a really long time. He is something else. The second thing that should be pointed out is that Ramsey is trying very hard to become the player from last year. Even if he did not have a massive impact on the game, he still contributed to the win. The third and last thing worth mentioning is Bellerin’s amazing form. This youngster is probably the best product Arsenal’s academy managed to produce in years. He is incredibly mature on the pitch, excellent from both a defensive and offensive point of view, and has interminable stamina. It’s great to see him play and it is going to be great to see him develop into a world class defender.
