Arsenal fans have wished Joel Campbell goodbye on social media after the striker sealed a permanent transfer to Seire A side Frosinone.
Campbell, 26, signed a three-year deal with the Italian club after completing a medical yesterday afternoon, bringing to an end his seven-year spell at The Emirates.
The versatile forward joined Arsenal in 2011, however failed to establish himself as a regular starer at The Emirates, spending most of his career with the North London club out on-loan.
The Costa Rica international has spent time with six different clubs including Olympiacos, Villarreal and Real Betis over the last eight seasons, the latter with whom he spent last season on-loan where he made just nine appearances and scored twice in an injury-hit season.
Subsequent to his departure, Arsenal released an official statement in which they said: “We would like to thank Joel for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the future.”
Thanks Joel, you’ll be missed!
Good luck in Italy, @joel_campbell12 🇮🇹

Shame to see Joel Campbell leaving Arsenal like this after being on the books for so long. He hardly a chance to play for #AFC & even when he proved himself on the pitch he still got dropped :/ . Best of luck @joel_campbell12 pic.twitter.com/PbvDTTYWqx

Good luck at Frosinone Joel Campbell! Unfair that you didn’t have a chance to really prove yourself at the club but I’m sure you’ll do great in Italy with a lot more game time! 👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/6rAqErE9Yu
