Arsenal fans torn as Bellerin closes in on Serie A move

Arsenal are close to sealing a deal to sell Hector Bellerin to Juventus this summer, according to reports.

Bellerin has been a staple in Arsene Wenger’s squad since breaking into the first team in 2014, and has missed only two of Arsenal’s 35 Premier League games this season.

Arsenal denied the Spain international a move to Barcelona last summer, however will now reportedly cash in on the 23-year-old defender to help fund a squad rebuild over the summer.

Italian radio station Cadena Ser report that Arsenla and Juventus held talks yesterday over the transfer of the Spainiard, and are close to agreeing a £44 million deal to take him to Turin.

Juve see Bellerin as a long-term replacement for the ageing Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Arsenal are expected to use the money raised from the sale of the former Barca youngster to help buy a new centre-back and winger during the summer.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, with the Algerian being eyed to help add firepower to Arsenal’s attack, while at the back they have been linked with fellow Fox Harry Maguire.

Maguire joined Leicester only last summer from Hull City, but has since established himself as one of England’s finest young centre-halves, earning a call-up to the national side late last year.
