Arsenal fans have been left ecstatic after club record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got his Gunners career off to the perfect start.
The Gabon international pulled off a delightful chipped finish in a 5-1 win for his new side over Everton last night – opening his Gunners’ account only 37 minutes into his debut.
Aaron Ramsey hit a hat-trick on the night, while Lauren Koscielny also scored in what was an impressive win for Arsene Wenger’s side.
Aubameyang, 28, signed for the Gunners on deadline day in a near £60 million move from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund after four-and-a-half seasons in Germany.
During his time with Dortmund, ‘Auba’ established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, scoring 141 times in just over 210 appearances for his former side – including winning the Bundesliga’s Golden Boot award last season.
The Gabonese star was just as prolific at his former club, St. Etienne, too, scoring 41 times in 97 appearances in France. For his country, he has 23 in 56.
And the 28-year-old has started life in a similar vein at his new club, much to the delight of the Arsenal fans …
