Arsenal fans slam record signing for Wembley performance

Arsenal fans have slammed record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after his lacklustre performance in yesterday’s North London derby.

Tottenham edged a tight affair at Wembley 1-0, thanks to a solitary Harry Kane goal – his 101st in the Premier League.

The Englishman’s towering header just after half-time was enough to seal the three points for the home side and send Arsene Wenger’s men back to The Emirates empty handed.

The defeat sees Arsenal remain in sixth place, however now seven points adrift of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who are in third.

Wenger however, has not given up on the chase for the top four despite the defeat, saying: “It’s a game we couldn’t afford to lose, of course. That makes it much more difficult now but we have to fight for as long as we have a mathematical chance.

Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up on the top four just yet.

“There was more at stake than just the derby, I said that before the game. That’s why it’s so disappointing to lose the game in the way we lost it.”

One of the games biggest talking points from an Arsenal perspective however came in the disappointing display of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international, who joined in January in a near £60 million move from Borussia Dortmund, struggled to get involved, especially in the first half where he made only eight touches of the ball – fewer than any player on the pitch.

And things didn’t get much better in the second half, albeit suffering from a lack of service, Aubameyang finished the game without having registered a single shot on goal.

The Gooners certainly weren’t impressed with their big money man’s display …
