Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to slam defender Lauren Koscielny after his performance against Atletico Madrid last night.
The Gunners were held 1-1 by the La Liga giants in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final at The Emirates.
Arsenal dominated the early proceedings, and were handed a huge boost when Atletico defender Sime Vrsaljko received two yellow cards in the opening ten minutes, reducing the visitors to ten men.
And things went from bad to worse for Los Rojiblancos when manager Diego Simeone was sent to the stands after appealing the decision to send Vrsaljko for an early bath.
It wasn’t until the 61st minute that the Gunners made their one man advantage pay however, when Alexandre Lacazette headed home his seventh goal in as many games to give Arsene Wenger’s men the lead.
Arsenal continued to flaunt some brilliant attacking football, but were unable to make the pressure tell, Aaran Ramsey and Lacazette guilty of missing clear chances.
With ten minutes to play, those missed chances were soon to be rued.
A lofted ball over the top proved too much for Laurent Koscielny to deal with, the Frenchman out-muscled by 5ft 8 Antoine Griezmann, before he comically kicked the ball into his own face to set his coutryman through on goal.
More comic-book defending followed from Shkodran Mustafi, who, while in a good position to block the ball, slipped, allowing Griezmann to poke the ball over him into the Arsenal goal and hand Atletico the advantage going into next week’s return leg.
