Arsenal fans slam ‘arrogant’ Alexis Sanchez as United career continues to falter

Arsenal fans have slammed ‘arrogant’ Alexis Sanchez are his poor performance against Sevilla last night for Manchester United in the Champion’s League.

United were knocked out of Europe’s elite competition at the hands of Sevilla, who ran out 2-0 winners at Old Trafford.

A quick fire brace from Wissam Ben Yedder with little more than ten minutes to play sealed the tie for the visitors, with United subsequently needing three goals to progress having drawn the first leg 0-0.

Romelu Lukaku pulled back a late goal to continue his rich vein of scoring, however it proved little more than a consolation.

Following the defeat a number of the United players – and indeed Jose Mourinho – came under heavy criticism for the display, however none more so than Alexis Sanchez, whose performances in a United shirt since his controversial January switch from Arsenal continue to sub-par.

BT Sports pundit and former United star Paul Scholes spoke of Sanchez’s poor performance after the game.

“[Sanchez] gave the ball away so often and his manager has to see that in the 10 games he has played, he has not been good.

“He needs to choose his best front three and be brave enough to leave one out. At the moment, Sanchez is the one to leave out.”

Sanchez moved to Old Trafford during the January transfer window after a long-running circus surrounding his future at The Emirates, which ultimately saw the Arsenal fans turn on the Chile international.

The former Barcelona star opted to move to United after being offered an astronomical wage packet of £500,000, but the 29-year-old has thus far proven little value for money having contributed only one goal since his arrival at the club.

The Arsenal fans are, to say the very least, pleased to see their former star struggling in his new colours …
