Arsenal fans have been reacting to the news that they are linked to signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who is due to become a free agent in the summer.
The Gunners will need to add more talent in centre-midfield, as they are set to lose the likes of Thomas Partey and Jorginho, whose contracts expire at the end of the season.
Assuming that Arsenal don’t extend their contracts, they will need to sign a replacement. They have already been linked with Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
They reportedly agreed to pay Zubimendi’s £51m release clause in January. But have now identified Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich as another replacement for the departing pair. He has also been linked to Barcelona and Man City.

Kimmich would add leadership, versatility, and experience to Arsenal’s midfield.

But if zubimendi is coming it doesn’t make sense to me

Am I reading these replies correctly? Is our fanbase this dim? It’s a no brainer! We are losing Partey+Jorginho, a midfielder is just as important as a striker. Get him in!

Yes it’s a no brainer adds leadership, a level of creativity and depth to our midfield. I wouldn’t want zubimendi if it meant we went for another creative midfielder

Will Arsenal sign Martin Zubimendi?
The Gunners have been linked to Zubimendi for a long period, with reports in January suggesting that a transfer deal was virtually done between Arsenal and the midfielder.
However, it has not been confirmed as to whether the deal is confirmed, and reports have also suggested that Real Madrid could make a late move for the Spanish international.
Zubimendi has made 34 appearances so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. He plays as a defensive midfielder, in a similar role to Kimmich – between them, they will be apt replacements for Jorginho and Partey.
