Arsenal fans have been reacting on social media after they lost 2-0 to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
The Gunners had the chance to take the lead through a Gabriel Martinelli chance, however, he hit the post.
Mikel Arteta‘s side then went behind thanks to Alexander Isak, who the Gunners have been linked with. Anthony Gordon then netted again and made it 2-0 leaving Arsenal in a hole heading into the second leg.
Arteta’s side had 23 shots during the game, but they only managed to record one on target, leaving many fans wanting the Gunners to address the striker position over the transfer window.
After a player of the match performance, Arsenal fans took to X to call for the club to make a move for Isak who scored and assisted against the Gunners at the Emirates.

Arteta will be the architect of his own downfall if he doesn’t address the top no. 9 striker position this season. He should swallow his pride and do the needful thing. The difference maker in this game is this deadly strker Alexander Isak!

Get Isak or a striker that can shoot and score!! No action in January will sink this club.

Isak is the solution to our problem at the moment and Arteta should to consider signing him ASAP.
Without a clinical striker we can’t win anything tbh.

Newcastle set hefty asking price for Arsenal target Isak
Newcastle United values Isak very highly, however, he is yet to sign a long-term contract extension at St James’ Park.
Isak has also generated significant transfer interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, who have both been linked with him since the summer transfer window.
Newcastle had previously said that their valuation of the Sweden international sits at £115m, and it could only go up considering the fact that Isak now has 15 goals in 22 games this season.
