Carlo Ancelotti is being lined up as a replacement for Arsene Wenger at the end of the season, according to reports.
Wenger has heavily been rumoured to be on his way out of The Emirates at the end of the season after over two decades at the helm of the club.
The Gunners currently sit sixth in the Premier League, and were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest earlier in the week, further sparking rumours the Frenchman will be on his way out come the end of the season.
And now, former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly been identified as Wenger’s successor.
Ancelotti has been out of work since September of last year after being let go of Bayern Munich following their difficult start to the Bundesliga season, and it is understood the Italian would be open to a return to management in the near future.
The former Bayern man has had a trophy-clad managerial career, with Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga titles under his belt – as well as three Champions League titles.
The appointment of Ancelotti however would depend on Arsenal’s fortunes over the next six months. Arsene Wenger is thought to have till the end of the season to rescue his Arsenal career, otherwise his contract will be terminated a year early.
The Gunners fans however are thrilled with the links to the veteran manager, and think he could be the perfect man to succeed to Frenchman in North London …
Happy days ahead

I would be happy with Ancelotti as a short-term appointment to help manage the post-Wenger era. He’s experienced and well-respected. A longer-term option would be Arteta after his ‘graduation’ from Manchester City. Diego Simeone would have been my ideal!
