Arsenal Fancy £32 Million Rated Striker?

Most interestingly, Yahoo! Eurosport is reporting that Wenger is ready to pull out all the stops to land Costa who has been in sensational form for Atletico Madrid this season. He has already matched his goal scoring exploits of the last two seasons by notching 19 league goals in just 17 appearances to fire Atletico to second in the league standings.

The 25-year-old currently tops the goal scoring charts in La Liga, one ahead of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Spanish international has a £32 million buy-out clause inserted into his contract which Arsenal are rumoured to be ready to trigger this month.

Even though the prolific goal scorer signed a new five-year deal with Atletico last August, Arsenal are ready to test the Spanish club’s resolve by splashing the cash for Costa. Wenger has a lack of options up front, which are further blighted by injury woes to Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner plus the stunning news of Theo Walcott’s terrible injury.

The report suggests that even Chelsea are interested in the Brazilian-born striker but will only make a move in the summer transfer window, paving the way for Arsenal to lodge a bid and lure Costa to the Emirates Stadium in this window.

This seems like an unlikely transfer but if Wenger pulled it off it would be a massive coup perhaps bigger than the Ozil deal.
