Arsenal Face Tough Competition For Dani Alves

Arsenal are favorites to get the Brazilian’s signature. Despite possibly becoming the Gunners’ third right back after Chambers and Debucy were brought in this summer, the idea of having Alves around is still something to think about. According to Metro, signing him will be more difficult than expected after Tottenham have expressed their desire to secure his services. The offer rumored by several websites is supposed to be at around £7million. Even with the defender crisis Wenger is having to deal with right now, going over that price limit might be too much. Despite being one of the most impressive right-backs in the world, Alves finishes his contract in June. Barcelona will have to sell him to the highest bidder in order not to lose him for free.

The 31 year old who has won all the trophies he could with his Spanish club teams, is looking for a new challenge. Unfortunately for Wenger, the Brazilian was not ready to leave a few months back when he could have become Arsenal’s number one right back. Back then the Gunners signed Debuchy and Chambers who have both picked up injuries.

The thing with Alves is that he looks like too good of an opportunity to pass by. Despite not being the absolute necessary transfer, he could bring something extra to the team. A right side with him and Sanchez could cause some serious trouble for any defense regardless of how great it is.
