Arsenal Eyeing January Transfer Swoop For £15m Rated Brazilian Marksman

Arsenal are interested in signing Club Brugge striker Wesley Moraes in the January transfer window, according to reports in England.

With Danny Welbeck sidelined with a broken ankle, Gunners boss Unai Emery is said to be eyeing the Brazilian as a possible £15m replacement.

Wesley has been in good form this campaign, having scored ten goals and contributed four assists in 22 games.

At 22 years of age, the forward also has scope to improve his game and would add competition up front alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal are not only team scouting Wesley, though, with Valencia and Fiorentina also keeping tabs on the player.

A move for another striker isn’t a surprise due to the news that Welbeck is unlikely to be given a new contract. The England international’s current deal expires in the summer.

Whether Wesley would prove to be a suitable substitute, it is not certain. The Brazilian has yet to prove himself in a top European league, although his two goals in the Champions League group stages this season may suggest he’s up to the task.
