Arsenal Eye Move For Bundesliga Star With 34M Release Clause

Arsenal are still interested in RB Leipzig utility man Tyler Adams, according to reports in the German media.

The Gunners were linked with the American international by credible sources over the summer as they looked for a new right-back, but the arrival of Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna effectively ended the speculation.

However, it has now also been revealed that Adams has a €40m (£34m) release clause, which could lead to the London club reviving their interest in the 22-year-old.

This season, Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch has been employing him exclusively as a holding midfielder, which is an area of the pitch that Arsenal are believed to be looking to reinforce.

Granit Xhaka is expected to return from injury before the January transfer window but Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has few alternatives in the middle of the park with Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny his only other options.

Adams is USA’s captain and he will be leading his team out against Mexico and Jamaica later this week.
