Arsenal Expected To Table 17.5M Bid As They Lead The Race To Sign Spanish Wonderkid

Arsenal are likely to table an offer in the region of €20m (£17.5m) for Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, according to reports in the Italian media.

There are no less than fifteen clubs interested in the 18-year-old. Serie A sides Juventus, Inter, AC Milan and Roma, La Liga clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Leeds, Brentford, Fulham, Southampton and Wolves are all pursuing the player.

However, from the sound of things, the Gunners are the team leading the race for the Fresneda, having decided to make a sizeable offer to tempt Valladolid into selling up.

It is believed that the teenager does have a €30m (£26m) release clause, which will increase to €45m (£40m) when he reaches 22 senior appearances, but it appears that Mikel Arteta’s side are hopeful of agreeing a deal for a fee significantly below those figures.

Valladolid’s record sale is the €12m they received from Southampton for Mohammed Salisu so they will seriously consider Arsenal’s proposal for Fresneda if and when the bid is formally submitted.
