Arsenal Enter Race For Nigerian Marksman Who Has Scored 18 Goals This Season

Arsenal have joined Napoli in the race to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen, according to La Repubblica.  The Italian newspaper says the two clubs are vying to sign the Nigerian international.

The forward has been in excellent form this season, scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances, and his performances have reportedly come to the attention of the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

However, Repubblica claims Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso likes Osimhen a lot and wants him to replace Arkadiusz Milik with the Pole expected to leave the San Paolo when the transfer window reopens.

The Serie A side are, though, anticipating competition from the Gunners, with the Nigerian likely being eyed as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With the Arsenal captain having just one year left on his contract, he could well be offloaded this summer, with the proceeds of the sale possibly being reinvested in a bid for Osimhen.
