Arsenal Enter Battle For Konstantinos Tsimikas But Must See Off Italian Heavyweights

Arsenal are interested in Olympiakos left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas, according to reports in Italy. Napoli are also believed to be keen on the 23-year-old, with it being claimed that the Italian side have already made a €12.5m (£10.7m) offer for the defender.

It was originally thought that the Greek international would cost around €6m (£5.1m) to €8m (£6.8m) but the involvement of the Gunners has reportedly pushed up the price of the player.

Whether Arsenal are actually interested in Tsimikas or if Olympiakos are using the London club to force Napoli into paying more, it remains to be seen.

Manager Mikel Arteta already has Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac who can play at left-back, but the pair are currently out injured.

The latter should only be out for a brief period, though, with a thigh strain, although Tierney’s dislocated shoulder means he is only likely to be back to full fitness in March.
