Nuno Tavares is undergoing a medical ahead of signing for Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan, GoonerNews can confirm.

The Portuguese defender, who is not considered among Mikel Arteta’s first team options at Arsenal, will complete his move to the City Ground in the next 24 hours.

Arsenal are working on a number of exits before Friday’s transfer deadline with Cedric Soares, Nicolas Pepe and Folarin Balogun set for departures from Emirates Stadium.

Balogun will complete his €40million move to Monaco on Wednesday, while Cedric is wanted by several European clubs ahead of a likely exit.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have turned down an approach from Chelsea over Emile Smith Rowe with the England under-21 midfielder attracting interest from a host of clubs ahead of Friday’s deadline.
