Arsenal are one of a number of club’s who have eyed the forward as a summer transfer target after breaking through into the Ajax first team over the last two seasons. Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona are all also thought to be interested.

However despite a host of Europe’s big boys expected to come calling come the end of the season, former Ajax scout, Guido Fredrich, says Kluivert should resist such offers and instead continue to develop his career at Johan Cruijff Arena.

“Kluivert has absolutely good moments and I think he is a top talent, but Mendes sometimes asks me if he is already ready for the absolute top of Europe,” Former Ajax scout Guido Fredrich told Voetbalzone.

“‘I do not think so,’ I said, certainly not as a number 11. If he’s to play for the top clubs, you have to play well every week.”

Justin, the son of Barcelona and Holland legend Patrick Kluivert, broke into the Ajax first team last season, and was a key member of the squad that finished runners up in the Europa League.

This season Kluivert has scored seven goals and produced four assists as Ajax sit second in the Eredivisie.
