Arsenal and a host of other Premier League clubs are set to miss out on RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to Soccer Link.
The website reports that the 21-year-old is very keen on staying in Germany and he wants a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich “at all costs.”
Soccer Link say the move is “getting closer”, although there will need to be some negotiations, with Bayern unwilling to pay Upamecano’s €58m (£51m) release clause.
The Frenchman reportedly wants the asking price lowered, and there have been claims that he could be available for as little as €40m (£35m) with Leipzig looking to sell with his contract expiring next year.
The Gunners are believed to be very interested in signing Upamecano, along with Manchester City, Tottenham and Barcelona, but the centre-back appears to be determined to remain in the Bundesliga, with Bayern seemingly the red hot favourites for his signature.
