Arsenal remain firmly in the race to sign Birmingham youngster Jude Bellingham, according to ESPN. The Gunners were originally linked with the 16-year-old back in January but, since then, it has been reported that both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United are the leading contenders for the player.

However, the Red Devils have apparently failed to convince the Blues with their initial offer for the teenager. They are only prepared to pay a small amount upfront with the rest made up of bonuses based on league and European appearances.

It is thought that the Manchester club will have to come up with a better deal if they want to sign Bellingham, leaving Arsenal with an opportunity to make their own bid for the England Under 17 international.

The Birmingham starlet is widely regarded as being one of the most talented players of his age group, having already made 35 senior appearances after making his first-team debut in August last year.
