Arsenal are considering whether to make a move for Brighton & Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey if they sell Hector Bellerin this summer, according to reports.
The former Chelsea academy graduate is one of two players that the Gunners are looking at, with Norwich’s Max Aarons also on the club’s shortlist of targets.
Bellerin is expected to be the subject of a bid from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and, with the Spaniard open to leaving the Emirates, it appears Arsenal are already lining up possible replacements.
Out of the two options, Lamptey looks the most promising, having scored one goal and provided four assists in his 19 appearances for the Seagulls. In contrast, Aarons has managed just 3 assists in 31 games for Norwich in the Championship this campaign.
Neither player is likely to be cheap, though, and the Gunners may have to put most of the proceeds from Bellerin’s potential sale towards his successor.
