Arsenal ‘Could Return’ To Sign 44M Rated Belgian Speedster Next Summer But Face Fight With 3 Other PL Clubs

Arsenal remain interested in signing Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, according to TMW. The Italian website reports that after being linked with the Belgian international last summer, the Gunners “could return” with a formal bid for the player at the end of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s side won’t be the only English team looking to snap up the 19-year-old, though, with it being claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen.

However, Doku won’t come cheap. Rennes paid €26m for the pacey winger in October last year and they are believed to be demanding double (€52m or £44m) for the player now.

Looking at his performances, though, there isn’t really anything to justify such a high transfer fee. While he impressed for Belgium at the European Championships earlier this year, the teenager’s form at club level has been pretty mediocre.

In his 41 appearances for Rennes, Doku has scored just two goals and contributed only four assists.
