Arsenal Could Lose The Most Efficient Striker In The Premier League

Rumors have it that Lukas Podolski has one foot out the door. With the January transfer window fast approaching, the German international will be looking to move in order to get some more time on the pitch. It is ironic though how Wenger has searched for the perfect striker all this time and has barely given Podolski a fair chance to prove himself. According to Metro, the 29 year old striker is currently the most efficient player in the Premier League. Since the 2009/2010 season, he has managed to be the best at what he does. With a finishing conversion rate of almost 28%, Podolski has surprised a lot of people after he beat players like Aguero and Hazard. Statistics show that even though he is not the biggest penalty taker in the Premier League, he still manages to lead the way in terms of chances turned into goals.

Unfortunately, Wenger has seen other flaws in Podolski who he clearly feels has had a hard time adapting to the Premier League. The freshly crowned World Cup winner could even increase his conversion rate if he were to get more time on the pitch. He has a lot to give even if he is close to 30. He may be better suited for a German team though. He has performed best while in the Bundesliga where he impressed through his ability to turn many chances into a goals.
