Arsenal ‘Contemplating’ January Exit For Summer Signing With La Liga Side A Possible Destination

Arsenal are “contemplating” whether to offload Willian when the January transfer window opens, according to El Gol Digital.

The 32-year-old only signed on a free transfer from Chelsea in August but he has struggled for form since his arrival, and it is believed that La Liga club Real Betis could offer him an escape route.

El Gol report that the Spanish side are keen on finding a replacement for captain Joaquin who is expected to retire at the end of the season and they have identified Willian as a possible candidate.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners are actually open to letting the Brazilian international leave so soon after signing him. Manager Mikel Arteta has started the player in 10 of the club’s 11 league games this season but the player has not made the impact some would have hoped.

Willian has yet to score for Arsenal, while two of his three assists so far this campaign came during the opening day win against Fulham back in September.
