Arsenal have talked to Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin’s entourage about whether he would be interested in a move to the Emirates, according to Le10 Sport.

The French publication report that both the Gunners and Italian side Napoli are interested in the 23-year-old, who has been in impressive form for the Magpies in recent months.

Saint-Maximin only moved to the North East for £16.5m last summer, but his pace has been a constant menace for opposition defences in the Premier League this campaign.

The Frenchman has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 26 appearances for Newcastle, although it must be pointed out that he has already had a couple of hamstring injuries this season.

For someone who relies on his speed like Saint-Maximin, that isn’t a surprise, but Arsenal may need to take his injury record into account before they decide to make a formal offer for the player over the coming months.
