Arsenal Women are poised to sign Vittsjo goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo, according to Football.London.
The website says the Gunners are looking to “close in” on a move for the 29-year-old, who is set to be available on a free transfer.
D’Angelo is a Canadian international, having won 12 caps for her country and, if she does seal her switch to the Emirates, she will be providing competition for current number one Manuela Zinsberger.
Is it unlikely that D’Angelo will be the last player to be brought in before the Women’s Super League resumes in a couple of weeks’ time.
The serious knee injuries sustained by Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema mean manager Jonas Eidevall is on the lookout for a new forward.
The Gunners have been linked with North Carolina Courage striker Debinha but there is strong competition for the Brazilian’s signature. Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen on snapping up the player.
