Arsenal, City And Chelsea Told They Must Meet 20.8M A Year Contract Demands If They Want 18 Goal Forward

Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic wants approximately £200,000 a week (after tax) to move clubs during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The tabloid reports that Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are all chasing the Serbian international but, in addition to shelling out a £70m transfer fee, teams would need to meet the player’s excessive wage demands.

With the UK’s 50% top rate of tax, it would mean any Premier League club would have to hand Vlahovic £400,000 a week (£20.8m a year) in order to snap him up next month.

The Gunners have been stung by giving out sizeable contracts in the past, and it’s likely they would be reluctant to offer the forward such a lucrative deal, despite his undoubted talent.

Vlahovic has scored an impressive 18 goals in 22 appearances for Fiorentina this season but, he is still only 21 years of age, and he has no prior experience of playing in the Premier League. It would, therefore, be a huge risk if Arsenal were to spend that much on the Serbian.
