Arsenal Circle As 22-Goal Belgian Ace Gives Strongest Hint Yet He’ll Leave His Current Club

Racing Genk forward Leandro Trossard has suggested that he may have played his last game for the Belgian club.

The 24-year-old has reportedly been watched by Arsenal and Wolfsburg in recent months and ahead of Genk’s 0-0 draw against Standard Liege yesterday, he said:

“Sunday’s game against Standard Liege might be my last one in a Genk shirt.”

Trossard was speaking before captaining Genk to their first Jupiler Pro League title in eight years. The Belgian side finished top of the table following a ten-match playoff.

The forward has been tipped as a possible replacement for Danny Welbeck at Arsenal who leaves the Emirates when his contract expires in June.

He has certainly been in good form, having hit 22 goals and laid on 11 assists in 47 appearances this season.

Reports have suggested that Trossard could cost as much as £20m, but his ability to play out wide or in a more central role would allow manager Unai Emery to use him in more than one position.
