Arsenal Choose Not To Strengthen Attack Further

Arsenal have chosen not to sign another striker to add to their ranks, as free agent Nikola Zigic has confirmed he was in talks with the London based club over a summer move, but the officials decided to stick to one signing in Danny Welbeck, according to IB Times.

Welbeck has joined the Gunners with a lot of expectations, as all the weight of the attack will be burdened on the former Manchester United striker. Arsenal are short of attacking options, and an injury to Olivier Giroud has left the club needing striking reinforcements to assist inexperienced Yaya Sanogo.

Zigic has played in the Barclays Premier League for former club Birmingham City, and his style of play matched the intensity of the league. His aerial ability proved to be an key asset in his armour, and his physical strength was enough to hold off defenders. As a free agent, Zigic provides a good alternative for cash-strapped clubs who are looking for economical options in the inflated transfer market.

However, his move to Arsenal is off for now, but Zigic has not ruled out a move to the Emirates Stadium in case the Gunners decide to add further. Even though the transfer market has been closed, free agents can still sign for clubs, so a move to the Premier League could still be on the cards for the striker.
