Arsenal ‘Carefully Monitor’ £34m Rated Juventus Star’s Situation With January Move Possible

Arsenal will “carefully monitor” Merih Demiral’s situation at Juventus following the Turkish international’s lack of matches at the Bianconeri this season, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website suggests that the 21-year-old will speak to his agent next month about forcing a move away from Juve if he doesn’t play a more prominent role in manager Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

Demiral only arrived from Sassuolo in a £16m transfer back in July but he has made just one appearance for the Serie A champions, coming in the 2-1 win over Verona in September.

The Gunners have struggled for clean sheets this season, having conceded 17 goals in 12 league games, and Demiral could come in to reinforce a shaky backline. However, they will face competition for his signature.

La Liga side Atletico Madrid are also watching developments closely, and it is believed that the centre-back could be let go for around €40m (£34m) in the January transfer window.
