Over the course of the Premier League’s lifespan, Arsenal have had some truly brilliant captains – today, we’ll be ranking four of the best.

We’ll be looking at captains from across the Premier League era, from its inception in 1992 to the present day – no stone has been left unturned.

We will be judging the players on this list solely on their leadership abilities and characteristics – the actual extent of their footballing talents will not be taken into account.

We will, however, be looking at the achievements that they attained during their time as captain – a true leader of men can help inspire his teammates to victory.
