Arsenal Begin Talks With Croatian Midfielder

Arsenal have begun talks with Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after the club made an official bid to sign the Dinamo Zagreb player, and the London based club have improved their contract offer after the player rejected an earlier approach due to a failed bid, according to the Metro.

The Gunners will have learnt from their rocky start to the season that they would have to be consistent in their performances if they are to challenge for top honours this season. With the emergence of clubs like West Ham United and Southampton into the business end of the Barclays Premier League, Arsenal have dropped points and have had to dig deep to discover top form. Arsene Wenger has managed to drive the players after recent criticism from the media and supporters, and the Frenchman has stuck to his natural gameplay.

Brozovic began his career at his native club Hrvatski Dragovoljac where he was signed as youth player. After a few years of early development, the player signed a professional contract and represented the club on 22 occasions. But his time at the club lasted just one campaign, and the player moved to Lokomotiva where he played 33 games, scoring 5 goals in the process. Then in 2012, it was Dinamo who showed concrete interest in the 22-year old, who made the move and established his place in the starting lineup.
