Arsenal Backed To Sign Ross Barkley

Arsenal haven’t been one of the busier sides in the transfer market this summer. But having already completed deals for Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette, two fantastic signings, the club are surely in the market for at least one or two more additions before the window slams shut.

Wenger has been linked with a host of signings to add to the squad this summer, including Thomas Lemar, Mahrez and William Carvalho. However, Arsenal legend Perry Groves says he would ‘absolutely love’ the club to to sign Ross Barkley – a player who is available after refusing to sign a new deal at Everton.

The England midfielder has told the Toffees he wants to leave and Groves insists he’d fit in well at the Emirates.

He told Bwin Sports: “I’m a massive Ross Barkley fan and think he could be perfect for us. I’d absolutely love him at Arsenal.”

“He’s got something that other players don’t have. If you can get Barkley for £25m, that’s a no-brainer.”

“He could play behind Lacazette or alongside Xhaka – I’d love to have him.”

“At this stage of his career, the money should not be the driving force. He wants to test himself and needs to do so at a club like Arsenal to earn the right to demand such money.”

“I think he’ll end up at Spurs or Chelsea, which would be a real shame as he’s entering the peak stage of his career.”

“Too many people look at the negative aspects to Ross’ game rather than what he can do.”

Should Arsenal make a move for Barkley?
