Arsenal Are Poised To Seal £15m Deal For Paraguayan Playmaker In January

Arsenal are close to clinching the signing of Atlanta United attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, according to reports in the English media.

The Paraguayan has been linked with a move to the Gunners over the past eighteen months, and it appears a deal could now be finalised in the January transfer window.

Almiron is expected to remain with Atlanta until the end of the MLS club’s regular season, before making a £15m switch to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has been in superb form so far this campaign. In 32 league games, the playmaker has scored 12 goals and contributed 13 assists.

He only joined Atalanta from Argentinian side Lanus in January 2017, and during his first season in the US, he was named in MLS’s Best XI as well as being awarded the Newcomer of the Year.

Almiron will likely be in contention for the player of the year award when this campaign ends, but it seems he could be on his way to the Emirates for the second half of the Premier League season.
