Arsenal are among “several European clubs” who have taken a keen interest in Toulouse midfielder Fares Chaibi, according to Foot Mercato.
The French website claims both the Gunners and Sevilla have been monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress and there is a possibility that the two teams could make offers for the player during the January transfer window.
Chaibi has been receiving a lot of plaudits for his recent performances, and he was named Ligue One’s Young Player of the Month after scoring once and providing two assists for Toulouse in October.
Arsenal are believed to be keen on snapping up a midfielder in the New Year but it is thought that they would prefer to sign someone who would provide cover for Thomas Partey.
Chaibi is certainly a more attack-minded player and he would probably be considered as a target if manager Mikel Arteta wants more competition for Granit Xhaka, with the Swiss international playing in a more advanced position this season.
