Arsenal Are ‘Increasingly Confident” That Deal For 22-Year Old Defender Can Be Secured

Arsenal are “increasingly confident” that they can agree a deal for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, according to Sky Sports News.

The TV channel reports that despite having two bids rejected for the 22-year-old, the Gunners remain in talks with the Scottish club about the defender.

Tierney is available for £25m this summer, but Celtic were unhappy with the payment clauses that Arsenal included in their last offer.

The Gunners are said to be very optimistic that their third bid will have a payment structure which is acceptable.

Tierney appears to be keen on a move to the Emirates with Celtic manager Neil Lennon having admitted in recent days that the player’s head had been turned.

Despite starting slowly, this summer’s transfer window is looking like becoming one of the most successful in recent years for Arsenal.

As well as securing deals for Dani Ceballos and William Saliba, they are looking like the favourites to secure a surprise £72m deal for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
